Fred Smith Company opened in 1986 as a family owned and operated business. Our mission is to enrich the quality of people’s lives by delivering superior value through high quality and affordability in the products and services of our three divisions: Sports Club, Construction, and Properties.
Our symbol is an Evergreen Magnolia tree, symbolizing deep roots and an endurance through all seasons. Fred Smith Company strives to be an evergreen company, using our diversified structure to enable us to weather different economic climates and seasons. The Evergreen Magnolia’s roots remind us of our family’s history: the source of strength that we count on both today and the future ahead.
Fred Smith Company’s purpose, our “foundation” , is to establish a place of work where all company members can build a better life for their family and a better community for their neighbors. Our employees, called “Builders”, are part of our company family. Our desire is to make North Carolina a better place to live, work, and play by living out each day our motto: “Building the Way”.
